The UK is governed by extremely strict firearms laws. The laws are in place to stop the misuse of firearms and they carry severe penalties for anyone caught breaking them.  It is your responsibility to make sure that you understand and be aware of all the laws that are in place.

As most shooters start to learn with air guns AC Guns Ltd has set out the main regulations of the law with this in mind. We would encourage you to get in contact with your local police firearms officer if you are in any doubt about the law.

A licence is not needed to own an air rifle or air pistol in the UK as long as the air rifle or air pistol does not exceed the legal power.

The power limit is set at 12 ft. Lbs for an air rifle and 6 ft. Lbs for an air pistol. Please be aware that different pellets can change the power levels and it is up to the user to make sure that the weapon does not exceed the legal limit.

You must not posses or be in possession of an air weapon that exceeds the legal power limit unless you have a firearms certificate (F.A.C.) that allows you to own the weapon.

Air pistols that exceed 6 ft lbs are strictly prohibited.
